CDIC held a studying abroad seminar for student of class of 2018

On the evening of September 24, 2020, CDIC held a studying abroad seminar for students of class of 2018. The meeting was hosted by Bai Qiang, Deputy Dean of CDIC.


First, Bai Qiang briefly introduced to students about the background of this meeting. He said that students of the class of 2018 should plan their graduation prospects as soon as possible. CDIC will provide corresponding support to encourages students to go to overseas well-known universities for further study. Therefore, this conference invited guests who have studied abroad to share their experience.

Next, the invited guest, Haojie Chen, an outstanding graduate of Chang'an University, shared his study abroad experience in Ireland. Chen Haojie is a graduate of School of Highway ’s Road Bridge and River Crossing Engineering major (International Engineering Class). He studied at the University College Dublin and obtained a master's degree in civil engineering. He is now a structural engineer of ATKINS, a well-known international engineering consulting company. He shared the experience of studying in the University College Dublin with his classmates, introduced the learning situation, daily life and work prospects in Ireland from multiple aspects, and answered questions about studying in Ireland.

Later, Cai Yangqian, a 2020 graduate of Chang'an University Road Bridge and River Crossing Engineering major (International Class), shared his experience of applying for British universities to the students. This year he successfully obtained a master's offer from Imperial College London. He shared requirements of some prestigious UK universities and his application process for graduate program's application, and encouraged students to plan as soon as possible and actively apply.

Finally, Xu Chenxi, a teacher of Educational administration Office, who graduate from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, shared her experience of studying in the UK for the past five years, and answered the students’ questions about life in UK.

This seminar provided information for CDIC's students of the 2018 class to studying abroad, stimulated students' interest in studying abroad, and laid the foundation for students to actively apply for studying abroad.
