On September 2020, CDIC held a lecture by professors from the University College Dublin in the high-speed network interactive classroom of Hongyuan Building. Professor William Smith (Head of Automotive Engineering at the University College Dublin), Professor Brendan Williams (Head of Transportation engineering major), Beini Chen, (Head of Cooperative Education at the University College Dublin), Alex Runchman(Supervision of Applied Language Center) and other related teachers attended the meeting.
William Smith, Head of Automotive Engineering major at UCD, first expressed his sincere congratulations and welcome to the students for their joining. Afterwards, he briefly introduced the development history, discipline advantages, graduation destination and employment direction of the Automotive Engineering major of University College Dublin to the students. He pointed out that the University College Dublin's Automotive Engineering major has always focused on the combination of students' theoretical study and practice, aiming to cultivate compound engineering talents with a solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience. The Automotive Engineering major of Chang'an University is a national first-class major building point, and the engineering technology discipline is the dominant discipline of the University College Dublin. Brendan Williams also introduced the overall situation of the Transport City Planning and Environmental Policy major to the freshmen major in Transport City Planning and Environmental Policy major. Focusing on the academic advantages of the University College Dublin and the courses offered, Williams gave a brief introduction on the core courses of the Transport City Planning and Environmental Policy major and their graduation prospects. He said that the Transport City Planning and Environmental Policy major, held jointly by the University College Dublin and Chang'an University, is ranked in the top 150 in the global QS ranking system.
