On the morning of September 5, the inaugural meeting of the Shaanxi Provincial Higher Education Teaching Steering Committee for 2020-2024 was held in Xi'an. Fang Guanghua (Vice Governor of the People's Government of Shaanxi Province), Wu Yan (Director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education), Dong Xiaolong (Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Provincial Party Committee), Wang Jianli (Director of the Provincial Department of Education), and Wu Shixing (Second Inspector of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, General Office Chang) attended the meeting. Wang Hainian, dean of CDIC, was invited to participate in the branch meeting and was appointed as a member of the Shaanxi Provincial Experimental Training Working Committee.

Shaanxi Provincial Higher School Teaching Guidance Committee was established by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee Education Working Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education. It is the highest expert organization in China engaged and led by the Provincial Education Working Committee and the Provincial Department of Education to guide the undergraduate education and teaching of Shaanxi colleges. It has an ad hoc organizations nature.

It is reported that this session of the Shaanxi Provincial Higher School Teaching Guidance Committee composed of 35 committees, with a total of 795 members, including 11 academicians of the two academies and 12 national-level teaching teachers. The establishment of the Provincial Education Steering Committee aims to give full play to the role of expert organizations in the research, consultation and guidance of Shaanxi's higher education teaching reform. It promotes the construction of a professional community of Shaanxi universities, realize the connotative development of higher education, and effectively improve the talent cultivating ability of Shaanxi’s undergraduate universities.
