Elsevier, a global information analysis company, released the 2021 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers List on April 14, 2022.A total of 4,701 people from 523 universities, enterprises and scientific research institutions have made the list, covering 84 first-level disciplines in 10 subject areas of the Ministry of Education. Professor Wang Hainian, the dean of CDIC, was selected as one of the "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" in 2021 in the field of Transportation Engineering by Elsevier.
Wang Hainian is currently the dean of CDIC. His main research fields are: research and development and maintenance technology of long-life green highway materials, green construction and durability improvement technology of civil aviation airport, intelligent operation and safety assessment of civil aviation airport, road detection and asset management, asphalt pavement and pavement structure design and optimization. At present, he serves as the Chairman of the Highway Department of the World Transport Congress (WTC), the leader of the Demonstration Base for Cultivating innovative Talents in the transportation industry, the director of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Construction and Maintenance of Civil Aviation Airport, the deputy Secretary-General of the Working Committee of Traffic Schools of China Highway&Transportation Society, and the leader of CDIC's Innovation and Entrepreneurship pilot project in Shaanxi Province. He has been selected as "Young and Middle-aged Leading Talents in Science and Technology Innovation in Transportation Industry", "National Highway Outstanding Scientist" by China Highway & Transportation Society and "Advanced Individual in Teaching Management" by Shaanxi Province.
Elsevier's "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list uses Scopus, the world's leading peer-reviewed abstract citation database, as the statistical source of Chinese scholars' scientific research achievements, and extracts basic data using the further optimized and updated Elsevier first-level discipline classification map of the Ministry of Education, which makes the data of discipline affiliation and discipline performance of Chinese scholars intuitively show the academic research ecology that fits the discipline setting of China and describe the scientific research output of Chinese scholars scientifically and accurately. As the leading scientific researchers in various disciplines, highly cited Chinese researchers play an important role in the process of scientific research institutions serving social development, and have always been the core evaluation index of Best Chinese Universities Ranking.
