The exam board meeting for Civil Engineering Infrastructure major was successfully held

On August 4, 2020, the 2020 spring semester exam board meetingwasheld in the form of online video conference.This meeting was conducted for Civil Engineering Infrastructuremajors of the cohort of 2018. Karen McHug (Director of the University College Dublin Examination Center), Paul Fanning (Provost of China), Amanda Gibney (Dean of the Schoolof Civil Engineering), Li Yuanchun (Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Chang'an University), Wang Hainian (Dean of the CDIC), and Bai Qiang (Deputy Dean ofCDIC), and heads of Academicaffairs Office of both Chinese and foreign parties and teacher representatives attended the meeting.The meeting was presided over by Pual Fanning and WangHainian.

First of all, the Chinese and international teachers introduced the basic teaching situation and score distribution of each module in this semester. The peoplein charge of teaching of both sides finally confirmed the changed scores and reviewed the overall performance of the students this semester. Affected by the pandemic this semester, although all modulesadoptedan online teaching mode that combinedlive broadcasting and recording, the overall academic performance of studentswasgood.

Subsequently, Li Yuanchun communicated with CDIC administrations and teachers on the quality of the student source, education and cultivation of students and the effect of online teaching during the pandemic. Li Yuanchun pointed out that the teaching methods of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects have certain particularities. During the pandemic, valuable online teaching experience has been gained. He hopedthat these experiences can be applied to routine teaching after students return to the classroom, and promote class reform and deep integration of information technology in education andteaching.

Finally, on behalf of CDIC, Wang Hainian thanked the Academic Affairs Office and the teachers for their strong support for the Sino-foreign cooperative education project. He said that CDIC will strictly control the quality of all aspects of education, realize the value-added effect of education and cultivate students to become compound talents who adapt to internationalcooperation.
