CDIC is a joint college run by the University College Dublin and Chang'an University. The University College Dublin is located in Dublin, the capital of Ireland. College Profile

Chang’an Dublin International College of Transportation at Chang’an University (CDIC)is a Sino-foreign cooperative education institution with no separate legal identity, jointly organized by our universityand the University College Dublin. It was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2020 (approval number:MOE61IEA02DNR20202076N) to conduct undergraduateeducation.

CDIC offers three Sino-foreign cooperative undergraduate majors: (1)Civil Engineering Infrastructure(2) Automotive Engineering(3) Transport City Planning and Environmental Policy major. CDIC aims to be an internationalizedcollege with distinctive characteristics in the field of transportation engineering, and is committed to cultivating “new engineering + large transportation+ International advanced talentswith international perspective, high problem-solving capabilities, and global competence in the field of transportationengineering.

Cultivation Mode

Chang'an University and the University College Dublin have jointly formulated a 4+0 dual-student, dual-degree, and bilingual education joint training model through a large number of investigations and evaluations of existing Sino-foreign joint cultivation programs. This enables students to share the high-quality teaching resources of the two universities and realize thestudy abroadwithout going abroad”. The core curriculum syllabus set up by CDIC is co-written by the teachers from both sides. The core curriculum is taught in bilingual or in full-English, and the core courses taught by international parties account for 70%. At the same time, talent cultivation focuses on the combination of knowledge and practice: establish a practice base based on well-known domestic and international companies to meet the cultivation of international talents' practical ability. Establish a sense of innovation through various forms of practice activitiesin different subject, and carry out rich international cultural exchange activities to enhance English learning and language applicationskills.

Teacher Resources

CDIC's core curriculum use bilingual textbooks and original English textbooks that are compatible with domestic and international technical specifications and design standards, and are taught on-site by Chang'an University and University College Dublin (50% each) with open, practical and case analysis teaching. Teachers who are responsible for improving students' English will be rigorously interviewed and systematically trained by the University CollegeDublin.

The international courses are taught by outstanding in-service teachers from the University College Dublin. The teaching of Chinese core curriculum will be mainly undertaken by more than 50 outstanding teachers with overseas doctoral degrees and rich bilingual teaching experience introduced by Chang'an University School of Highway, School of Automobile, and School of Transportation Engineering. The financial arrangements and student status management of CDICare determined through negotiation between Chinese and international parties. After students enter CDIC, dual student status management is implemented and cannot be changed at will. A:Due to the fact that Sino-foreign cooperative education majors’ courses have higher requirements for the university’s teaching conditions, Chang'an University has created new teaching hardware and software facilities for students of this major. Including a series of special supporting facilities such as brand new intelligent classrooms, high-speed network computer rooms, comprehensive reading and self-study areas for student activities, lecture halls, self-study rooms and discussion rooms. All intelligent equipment meets the standards of international famous universities. In order to facilitate our college’s students to carry out daily social interactions with ordinary faculty’s students and participate in the university's colorful after-school activities, the university does not have special canteens or sports facilities for students of this major.The student dormitory is a 4-person room with air-conditioning and a separatebathroom.
