On July 12, 2021, CDIC held the inauguration of 2021 CDIC Immersive English Summer Camp at the Student Activity Center on Weishui campus of Chang'an University. Zhao Xiangmo, Vice President of Chang’an University, Student Affairs Department, Academic Affairs Office, International Cooperation & Exchange Office, Logistics Management Office, Security Office and Youth League of Chang’an University, relevant leaders of CDIC, all foreign teachers and volunteers of the summer camp, and all staff of the CDIC attended the inauguration. The inauguration was presided over by Bai Qiang, deputy principal of CDIC.
Zhao Xiangmo, vice president of Chang'an University, delivered a speech at the inauguration. He said that CDIC has made full use of the Sino-foreign education while keeping in accordance with national strategies and local economic and social development needs, which indicates CDIC’s commitment to cultivating international elite talents with solid professional skills, advanced management concepts and excellent bilingual communication skills. The purpose of this Immersive English Summer Camp by CDIC is to enhance students' interest in English learning, improve their international communication ability, and cultivate their broad international vision. It will lay a solid foundation for the students to grow into compound and innovative talents in high-end technology and management with complex engineering problem solving ability and global competence in the field of transportation engineering.

Paul Fanning,the Provost of UCD in China and Alex Runchman, the director of UCD's language center, recorded a video respectively for the summer camp. They said that the immersive English summer camp is of great significance to improve the students' English comprehensive application level in all aspects. They hope that the students can utilize this communication and learning opportunity to experience the multicultural English learning atmosphere, and further improve their comprehensive ability through the abundant English teaching and practical activities.

Wang Hainian, Committee Chair and Principal of CDIC, delivered a speech for the inauguration. He said that CDIC attaches great importance to the combination of knowledge and practice in talent training. Through diverse discipline practical activities, students can foster their innovation consciousness, and through abundant international cultural exchange activities students can improve their ability of English learning and language application. In addition to strengthening the students' English ability, the ultimate goal of this immersive English summer camp is to make students interested in English learning, acquire English learning skills and methods, and effectively apply them to future English learning, so as to continuously improve their English level.

The two-week 2021 CDIC Immersive English Summer Camp aims to enrich the talent training content in the undergraduate stage of Sino-foreign education. Foreign experts in English education and international student volunteers are specially invited to carry out abundant thematic classroom teaching and extracurricular activities for students. Through interactive communication in the immersive English learning atmosphere, students can be motivated to actively participate in the teaching process, improve their English communication skills, cultivate their ability of keynote speech and team cooperation, which enhances the core competitiveness of international talents.
