On the morning of July 20th, Li Kaiyi, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of CHD, came to CDIC to visit foreign teachers, international student volunteers and college students who participated in the immersive English summer camp. He brought souvenirs to everyone and expressed his concern for them. Wang Hainian, secretary of the Party Branch and Dean of CDIC, Yao Yiliang, deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Deputy Dean of CDIC, and all the faculty and staff of CDIC accompanied the visit.
During the visit, Li Kaiyi listened to the classroom teaching of the summer camp and spoke highly of the teaching methods of foreign teachers and the classroom performance of students. In the cordial exchange with students, Li Kaiyi mentioned that the university has always complied with China's overall opening up, served the One Belt and One Road development strategy, closely followed the Bring in and Go global strategies, and constantly improved the level of its international education. The Sino-foreign cooperative education training model of CDIC fully integrates high-quality educational resources at home and abroad, and is a concentrated expression of the Bring in strategy. He hopes that students can fully experience foreign culture through this summer camp activity, experience English classes that are different from daily teaching, improve their English ability comprehensively, and become outstanding talents with international vision and broad minds.

Afterwards, Li Kaiyi had a discussion with foreign teachers and international student volunteers who participated in the summer camp teaching in the conference room on the fourth floor of the college. Li Kaiyi first welcomed the arrival of foreign teachers and volunteers. He pointed out that the quality of talent training is the lifeline of colleges and universities. Chang'an University, as a first-class discipline building university, always regards talent training as the central link in running a school. This summer camp is fortunate to invite foreign teachers and volunteers from all over the world to join, which plays an important role in improving the effectiveness of talent training. At the same time, Li Kaiyi also raised two hopes for foreign teachers and volunteers: On the one hand, he hopes that everyone can share teaching skills and academic achievements to promote mutual learning. On the other hand, he hopes that everyone can put forward opinions and suggestions on the summer camp activities to make them better and better. In the end, Li Kaiyi expressed his gratitude to all foreign teachers and volunteers who participated in the summer camp and wished them all a fruitful experience.
The 2021 CDIC Immersive English Summer Camp was held in Hongyuan Teaching Building on Weishui Campus from July 12 to July 23. A total of 12 foreign teachers and 24 international student volunteers were recruited and all the college's 2019 and 2020 undergraduates participated. In this summer camp, full English classroom teaching was conducted around several novel and vivid topics such as domestic and foreign economy, culture, transportation, etc. At the same time, the summer camp schedule is also interspersed with rich and interesting extracurricular activities such as singing, dancing, sports competitions, party history English sitcoms, and artistic performances to create an immersive English learning and life experience for students, and encourage students to express in English throughout the process. In this way, they can improve their English proficiency and lay a solid foundation for subsequent bilingual and full English professional courses.
