CDIC held an online meeting for 2021 undergraduate freshmen in the conference room on the fourth floor of Hongyuan Teaching Building at 19:00 on August 13th. The purpose of this freshman meeting is to further strengthen home-school communication, make freshmen get a preliminary understanding of the work of the college, jointly do a good job of student learning and enrollment guidance during the normalization of COVID-19 prevention and control, and realize home-school co-education. Wang Hainian, Secretary of the Party Branch and Dean of CDIC, Yao Yiliang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Deputy Dean of CDIC, Bai Qiang, Deputy Dean of CDIC, the heads of Office of General Services, Office of Academic Affairs, and Office of Student Affairs, the 2021 counselor, the 2021 freshmen and parent representatives attended the meeting. On behalf of the college, Wang Hainian welcomed the freshmen and their parents and briefly introduced the basic situation of the university and CDIC. He said that the significance of a university is to use a high-quality platform to cultivate students' broad vision and contribute to the realization of a better division of labor and development of society as a whole. Relying on the Sino-foreign cooperative education model, with abundant domestic and foreign resources and first-class hardware and software environment, the college is confident to provide high-quality talent training, student management and services. The online meeting held this time is to let the freshmen have a preliminary understanding of the situation of the university before they are about to start their university life. It is hoped that through the four years of university, the college can establish close ties with each student’s family and forge a deep friendship, and through the efforts of all parties, each student can become a better self.

Bai Qiang made an introduction to the 2021 freshmen from the aspects of student cultivation and student development. He said that CDIC adopts the advanced joint cultivation model of “double degree”, “double registration”, and “4+0” to help the students realize “study abroad” without actually going abroad. Compared with traditional majors, cooperative education enables students to acquire professional and technical knowledge that is integrated with both Chinese and foreign countries and gain bilingual advantages in engineering and management. The college actively utilizes international faculty, integrates first-class scientific research platforms and teaching facilities, and cultivates new engineering + large transportation + internationalization high-end technical and management talents in the field of transportation.

Yao Yiliang gave a detailed introduction to the new students and their parents about the relevant situation of the opening of the journal. He first introduced the rich and extensive scholarship system set up by the university and the college for students, and hoped that the 2021 freshmen could set their goals early, plan ahead, and make a good start for the four-year university life. Then, he introduced in detail the university’s start-up COVID-19 prevention and control work arrangement and registration process. He emphasized that COVID-19 prevention and control is the focus of the open journal work. Freshmen should actively understand the university’s COVID-19 prevention policies, strengthen communication with the college, and be fully prepared for smooth admission.
Finally, the leaders of the college conducted in-depth exchanges with students and parents, and answered questions raised by them.
