On the morning of May 22, CDIC held the first phase of Industry experts Monograph in the public recreation area on the fourth floor of Hongyuan Building. CDIC specially invited Xiao Feipeng (Professor from the Department of Road and Airport Engineering of Tongji University) and Wei Ya (Professor from the Department of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University) to have a symposium with more than 30 students of all grades of CDIC. Yao Yiliang, deputy dean of CDIC, participated in this event. The event was hosted by Sun Shiqiang, director of the Student Affairs Office.

At the beginning of the symposium, two guests shared their own study and work experience with the students. They both have outstanding career resumes in universities and enterprises, at home and abroad, and have rich professional skills, management experience and profound academic research accomplishments. Using personal experience as an example, they emphasized the importance of clarifying the future development direction and enhancing personal competence. They also pointed out that only with a solid academic foundation and strong execution ability can one have better achievements in the future.

During the exchange session, students actively asked questions on subject knowledge, industry development trends, and future life plans. Two guests answered the questions raised by students. They also conducted in-depth exchanges with students from the future development trends of the civil engineering and transportation industries at home and abroad to the research hotspots in their professional fields, and from the differences in domestic and foreign higher education to how to cultivate interdisciplinary talents. Students benefited a lot from two professors .

At the end of the event, Yao Yiliang made a concluding speech. He once again extended a warm welcome to the arrival of the two professors. He hoped that all the students could establish grand ideals, and work hard for them to make their life path clearer.
