On May 22, 2021, the first CHTS Outstanding Doctoral and Master's Thesis (in the field of highway engineering) review meeting was held at CDIC in the Weishui Campus of Chang'an University. This meeting was sponsored by China Highway and Transportation Society and undertaken by the Chang'an Dublin International College of Transportation at Chang'an University.

Meeting Scene

The selection of outstanding doctoral and master's thesis of the China Highway and Transportation Society has implemented the national strategy of strengthening the country through science, technology, and talents. It also promotes the construction and development of the highway transportation discipline, improve the cultivation work of high-level innovative talents, and give full play to the discovery, cultivation and recommendation of talents.

The review meeting was presided over by Wang Dapeng, Director of the Operation Center of the Executive Committee of the CHTS World Transport Convention. Wang Hainian, Professor of Chang'an University, served as the group leader of all the evaluation experts. Evaluation experts include Professor Xiao Feipeng from Tongji University, Professor Wei Ya from Tsinghua University, Professor Su Qian from Southwest Jiaotong University and Professor Li Feng of Beihang University.

The selection of excellent theses follows the principle of “scientific, fairness, emphasis on innovation, strict selection, put quality before quantity”. Altogether two rounds of review were carried out. Finally, five outstanding doctoral theses in the field of highway engineering were selected, which accounts for 20% of the total number of participating doctoral theses. Seven excellent master's theses were selected, which accounts for 20% of the total number of master's theses.
