CDIC successfully held the first meeting of the Teacher-Student Liaison Committee

On the afternoon of April 19, 2021, the first meeting of the Teacher-Student Liaison Committee of was successfully held in the conference room on the 4th floor of the Hongyuan Building together with the University College Dublin. Yao Yiliang(Deputy Dean), Bai Qiang(Deputy Dean), Jia Jieyu, (Director of Teaching and Academic Affairs), Sun Shiqiang(Director of Student Affairs Department), Paul Fanning(UCD Provost), principles ofeach Chinese and international major, and Ten student representatives from the Grade Teacher-Student Liaison Committee attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over byPaulFanning.


Paul Fanning first announced the establishment of CDIC’s Teacher-Student Liaison Committee and introduced the members one by one. Afterwards, Paul Fanning introduced in detail about the responsibilities of the teacher-student liaison committee. Paul Fanning stated that the establishment of the Teacher-Student Liaison Committee aims to strengthen the understanding and communication between teachers and students. It is an important measure for the two universities to further improve education and teaching management and ensure the quality of Sino-foreign cooperationeducation. She hopes this teacher-student liaison committee meeting could gain more understandingofstudents' opinions and suggestions on CDIC’steaching management, curriculumsetting, classteaching, and course assessment so that two universities could make corresponding improvements based on theseopinions and suggestions, and continuously improves the teaching quality of Sino-foreigncooperationeducation.



Subsequently, representatives of students from all grades spoke enthusiastically, raisingexistingproblems in teaching methods, teaching platforms, teachers, and the improvement of English proficiency, and put forward a number of targeted suggestions.Principles of each Chinese and internationalmajormade detailed records of the questions and suggestions put forward by the student representatives of each majors, and answered some ofthequestions.


At the end of the meeting, Paul Fanning stated that the University College Dublin and Chang'an University will systematically summarize and implement the suggestions and opinions put forward by the students.She emphasized that the establishment of the Teacher-Student Liaison Committee is of great significance to promote communication between students, CDIC and the UCD. The meeting of the Teacher-Student Liaison Committee aimsto:establish a smooth communication and feedback mechanism for students; enhance students' sense of belonging and honor; continuously promote the teaching management operation and talent cultivation of CDIC; lay a solid foundation for CDIC to cultivate international and compoundhigh-qualitytalents.
