CDIC organizes teachers to participate in XJTLU ILEAD’s third teaching research seminar about all English teaching of core curriculum

From April 17th to 18th, 2021, The Institute of Leadership and Education Advanced Development of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU ILEAD) held the third teaching researchseminarabout all Englishteaching of core curriculum. Focusing on the student-centered English teaching model, through heuristic lectures, mixed workshops and interactive communication and other practical-based teaching methods, theyjointly discussed topics such as improving of all Englishteaching of core curriculum and teaching reform. CDICsent Xiao Mei and Zhang Shuo, responsible persons in charge of Sino-foreign cooperative education in transportationengineering, to participate in thisseminar.


Xi Youmin(XJTLU’s Executive Headmaster), Zou Bin (Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Linguistics), Zhang Yunyan (Director of the Graduate Department of the English Language Center), Simon Sheridan (Deputy Dean of the School of Language), Kathryn Paterson (Senior Teacher of the English Language Center), and Yu Hao (Associate Professor from the Department of Physics), Wei Rining (from the Department of Applied Linguistics), and Zhang Jie (from the International Business School), etc. sharedthe experience of teaching core curriculums in English and teaching reform in multiple dimensions such as : higher education system of student-centered, research-oriented, and integrated education, the content and significance of all-English teaching, the design of all-English teaching courses, Full English speaking ability in practice, teaching task arrangement and learning activity organization, science teaching curriculum design in English, humanities and social sciences teaching cases in English, business sciences in English teaching cases,etc.


In the era of globalization, cultivating students' international vision is an important goal for the university. This two-day training has enabled CDIC's teachers to have a new understanding of the concept of English teaching, mastered systematic teaching methods, and contribute to the internationalization of CDIC's talentcultivation.
