On August 11, Wang Hainian,deanof CDIC,led a team to the Ningbo University-University of Angers Joint Instituteat Ningbo and the International Exchange College of  Ningbo University of Technologyfor visiting and study.The purpose of this visit is to learn from other universities’ experience in Sino-foreign cooperative education project management and institutionaloperation.

In the morning, Hu Baohua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the NingboUniversity-University of Angers JointInstituteat Ningbo , and Li Jialin, Associate Dean, had a communication and discussion with the CDIC research teamon the Botanical Garden campus of Ningbo University. Hu Baohua introduced to CDIC’s research team about the basic situation of  Ningbo University, the history of  the JointInstitute, the establishment of  majors, and the cultivation model. He explained his understanding of the system and mechanism of  Sino-foreign cooperation education, and emphasized that the top-level design of the project should base on the relevant systems of  the Ministry of  Education and the Sino-foreign cooperative educationagreement.

Afterwards, Wang Hainian briefly introduced the basic situation of Chang’an university and CDIC, and highly praised the achievements of the University of Angers Joint Institute in the field of Sino-foreign cooperation education. He hoped that in the future,the two sides could have more visits, support each other and enhance friendship.

Participants conducted in-depth communications and discussions on teacher and student party strengthening, faculty performance evaluation, undergraduate talent cultivation, and postgraduate projectdeclaration.

Communicating with Ningbo University-University of Angers Joint Institute

In the afternoon, the research team of CDIC went to the International Exchange College of Ningbo University of Technology for visiting and study. Lv Zhongda (Secretary of the Party Committee of Ningbo University of Technology), Bao Shudi (Dean of International Exchange College), Zhong Tao (Secretary of the Party Branch), and Liu Shuzhen (Vice President of Ningbo University of Technology)discussed and communicated with CDIC’sresearchteam.

Lv Zhongda welcomed Wang Hainian and his team. He pointed out that Sino-foreign cooperation education is an important measure to promote the internationalization of higher education. Ningbo University of Technology attaches great importance to the internationalization of education and put forward the two-wheel drive strategy very early. The government office took the lead in formulating the management methods of the International Exchange College, fully delegating powers, and handling special affairsin special ways. Thus, good results have been achieved in recent years. Both colleges have their own characteristics in the development of Sino-foreign cooperation education. It is hoped that both colleges can make great progress on the road of innovation anddevelopment.

Bao Shudi introduced in detail about the development of the Sino-foreign cooperative education project from the aspects of positioning, major settings, school achievements, and student development. She explainedthe importance of the two-wheel drive strategy of Ningbo University of Technology and the internationalization of its Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. She demonstrated some of the college’scharacteristics such as high proportion of foreign high-quality teaching resources, whole-process evaluation, promotion of general education courses, co-teaching andco-research.

Wang Hainian introduced the basic situation of CDIC. He mentioned that the Sino-foreign cooperative education project of Ningbo University of Technology has been established for a long time and has mature experience in cooperating with foreign schools. Thus, it provides important reference significance for CDIC’smechanism and system innovationon cultivating students. Like Ningbo University of Technology, the administrationsof CDIC attach great importance to the internationalization of education, and give effective support to Sino-foreign cooperative education projects. CDIC will definitely live up to the expectations of the university administrationsand Lv Zhongda, continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation, andmakeCDICshines.

After the meeting, the participants visited the advanced facilities of the International Exchange College. The two colleges exchanged souvenirs and took photostogether.
