CDIC Won the Titles of "Excellent Institution of Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education in Shaanxi Province" and "Advanced Collective of Foreign Affairs in Shaanxi Education System" in 2021

Recently, the sixth Forum on Sino-Foreign Cooperative Educationin Shaanxi Province, sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and undertaken by the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Branch of Shaanxi Higher Education Association, came to a successful conclusion.

The meeting commended outstanding institutions which have sound work of party building, excellent teaching quality, solid connotation construction, obvious radiation effect and give full play to their platform role. CDIC won the award of "2021 Excellent Institution of Chinese-Foreign Cooperative Education in Shaanxi Province".

On January 4, 2022, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education announced that after the recommendation of universities and the review and selection of the provincial Department of Education, CDIC was awarded "2021 Advanced Collective of Foreign Affairs in Shaanxi Education System". According to the selection and commendation notice, the Department of Education organized the selection according to the implementation of the decision and deployment of education opening-up, the exploration of new ideas and methods of educational foreign affairs under the new situation, and the breakthrough made in improving the level of opening-up of the institution. 29 advanced collectives were selected in the province.

The year 2021 was the first year for the establishment and successful operation of CDIC. It gives full play to the advantages of Sino-foreign cooperative education, promotes the integration, innovation and collaborative development of the flagship specialties in the university, and actively implements the mission of "New Engineering + Large Transportation + Internationalization" to cultivate high-end technical and management talents.

CDIC strives to build an international faculty, takes recognition of China's national conditions as the first condition, establishes high standards and strict requirements of the teacher recruitment system, and effectively does a good job in the management and service of Chinese and foreign teachers. CDIC innovates the Chinese-foreign cooperative teaching mechanism, actively promotes the deep cross-integration of the curriculum system, adds 16 bilingual courses and 37 English courses, introduces 75 original textbooks in foreign languages, establishes 15 first-class Chinese-foreign cooperative undergraduate course construction projects and sets up a number of Chinese-foreign cooperative teaching reform projects.



CDIC has established and improved communication channels. It has held three meetings of the Liaison Committee between Chinese and Foreign Teachers and Students, 12 Reception Days for college leaders and 2 parent-teacher meetings, constantly strengthening the frequency and depth of teacher-student exchanges, home-school communication, and contact with home and abroad, collecting useful opinions and suggestions from all parties, and promoting the quality and efficiency of education and teaching management.



CDIC attaches great importance to improving the education function of school space, and has built multi-functional education space such as psychological counseling room, student discussion room, reading cornerto provide students with facilities and conditions for psychological counseling, mutual learning and vision expansion, so as to meet the diversified needs of students to grow and become talented.



CDIC gives full play to the joint training advantages of "dual student status, double degree and bilingual teaching", strengthens the collaborative education function of counselors, class teachers, experts in the field and peer mentors, actively carries out 3 online cultural exchange activities of University College Dublin, holds 8 sessions of "Study Abroad Salon", 4 sessions of "Peer Forum", and 1 session of "Expert Lectures", focusing on building a "five-in-one" international talent training system.



CDIC actively plays a radiating role in internationalization. It has provided more than 200 class hours of free IELTS and TOEFL training to 390 students in CHD for 4 times, provided 60 class hours of training to 30 teachers from 14 colleges of CHD to improve their international teaching ability, and conducted overseas study guidance activities such as public lectures on international education and guidance on writing application materials for a master's degree.



CDIC attaches great importance to the recruitment publicity work and adopts the full-staff recruitment model of "normalization + critical period" and "online + offline". The annual recruitment quality has been significantly improved, with more than 10,000 ranking in 3 provinces.



With the Science and Technology Association as the platform, CDIC actively creates an atmosphere for scientific research and encourages students to participate in scientific innovation competitions such as "Challenge Cup", "Internet Plus", American College Students Mathematical Contest in Modeling, and National English Competition for College Students. Students have won 12 national and international awards, 4 provincial and ministerial awards, and 1 gold medal of China International "Internet Plus" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.



CDIC actively encourages students to enter the international stage, and sets up special scholarships for international exchanges to encourage students to improve their language skills, participate in international academic exchanges, and pursue further study in well-known overseas universities. At present, a number of students have successfully applied for further study in overseas universities, among which Xu Xihang has been funded by CSC to pursue his master's and doctoral studies in University College Dublin, Ireland.



The past is the prelude, and the future is the expectation. CDIC will take this award as a new starting point, continue to deepen Sino-foreign cooperative education, constantly strengthen inter-university learning exchanges, and promote the connotation construction of the college, actively contributing wisdom and strength to the national education opening-up and the country's participation in global governance.
