On the afternoon of February 26, 2021, CDIC and the University College Dublin held an Academic Cohesion Meeting. This meeting was conducted remotely online. Bai Qiang (The Deputy dean of CDIC), Jia Jieyu (the dean of the teaching and academic affairs department), and Haris Doumanidis (CDIC’s internationaldeputy provost), Paula McGarry (the director of the UCD China Joint Office), and the heads of both Chinese and International coursesattendedthemeeting.
First of all, Bai Qiang and Haris Doumanidis expressed their sincere appreciation and welcome to the teachers participating in the conference. Bai Qiang said that through this meeting, teachers from both sides will have a more comprehensive understanding of CDIC's teaching tasks and curriculum setting for the spring semesterof2021.
At the meeting, the person in charge of each course gave a brief self-introduction and introduced the courses of the 2021 spring semester. Afterwards, Paula McGarry explained the performance review procedures of the CDIC and the score input system specially designed by the University College Dublin for theparticipatingteachers.
Finally, Haris Doumanidis expressed his gratitude to the participating teachers and Paula McGarry for her sharing. He said: We will make all effort to jointly promote CDIC's management and international teachingteamconstruction.
This conference provided a platform for both Chineseand international teachers to understand each other, to further promote communication between the teachers of two universities, actively ensure the smooth development of courses this semester, and lay the foundation for deeper international scientific research cooperation between the teachers of the two universities inthefuture.
