On November 18, 2019, Kevin Griffin (Director of the Student Registration Center of the University College Dublin), and Andrew Myler, (Director of the Administration Office), visited our schooland conducted investigations on Sino-foreign cooperative educationprojects.
At 10:30 in the morning, the delegation held a discussion with OUR SCHOOL’s relevant departments in the meeting room of the Sino-foreign cooperative education project, whichis located on the fifth floor of Hongyuanbuilding, Weishui Campus. Zhao Yu (Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office), Gao Wei (Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office), Sun Yong (Deputy Director of the Information Network Office), Wang Hainian, (Deputy Dean of the School of Highway), Yang Guanghui, (Director of the International Education Center), and related personnel attended the symposium. The symposium was hosted by Wang Hainian, DeputyDean of School ofhighway.
Andrew Myler, Director of the UCD Administration Office, first briefly introduced the administrative structure of the UCD Registration Center, the entire process of student enrollment, admission, registration, and evaluation. The main task of the registration center is toprovide professional guidance services, and optimize the content of the educational affairs of the University College Dublin and its partners. The purpose of this visit is to understand the problems of academic registration integration found in the operation of the Chang'an University & University College Dublin’sCooperative Education Project, and to discuss future optimizationplans.
In this forum, various issuesincluding UCD student system access technical support, the status quo of the independent educational administration system, the educational administration regulations of both parties, student registration, credit transfer system and other issues were communicated and discussed, and preliminary solutionswas putforward.
At 14:00 in the afternoon, Yang Guanghui, director of the International Education Center of School of Highway, introduced the project operation application, implementation, equipment improvement, enrollment, cultivation plan, student exchange activities, teacher training, etc. Kevin Griffin, Director of the Student Registration Center of the University College Dublin, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the project management members. At the meeting, the delegation and members of the Project Management Office conducted in-depth discussions on the capacity of classes, the assigningof student learning tasks, the proportion of professional courses taught, the retake of exams, the optimization of experimental courses, and the degreeawards.
At 16:00 in the afternoon, in the lecture hall on the fifth floor of HongyuanBuilding, members of the delegation met with students of class of 2018 and 2019 from the Sino-foreign cooperative education project of the Road&Bridge and River Crossing Engineering major. The members listened to and answered relevant questions from thestudents.
This visit has greatly promoted the smooth operation of roads, bridges and river crossing engineering major in Sino-foreign cooperation projects and the integration of educational administration management, which provided an important guarantee for the progress of Sino-foreign cooperationprojects.
